PGA Golf Club celebrated the PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) Veteran Clinic Graduation on Feb. 6, at the PGA Center for Golf Learning and Performance.
PGA HOPE is the key golf program for military veterans under PGA REACH, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America. The HOPE program provides veterans with free golf instruction from local PGA Professionals as a means to enhance their rehabilitation and assimilation back into society.
The graduation marks the culmination of an eight-week program. Vietnam Veteran Ed Dougherty, a PGA and Champions TOUR standout, and the 1985 PGA Professional Champion, was the guest of honor.
“PGA HOPE is an incredible program that embodies all that’s good about golf and how our game is making a difference for the brave men and women of our Armed Forces,” says PGA Golf Club General Manager Jimmy Terry. “The graduation isn’t the end of our involvement with these brave men and women, as PGA Golf Club will offer continuing programming to all graduates.”
