Golf Coast Magazine posted an article this week on our remarkable Sarasota HOPE Program in Florida, which took place over the past six weeks at the Marriott Corporation’s Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Club.
On the final Thursday class of their six week PGA HOPE program, all 15 veteran graduates were awarded an orange Ritz-Carlton logo shirt and invited to continue coming to the elite practice area at the Ritz every Thursday afternoon to practice and reinforce their skills on the range tee, chipping/pitching greens, bunker play and putting green areas. When these HOPE veteran graduates come to the Ritz-Carlton Members Club on Thursday afternoons wearing the orange shirt provided, they are automatically given complete access to that elite practice area.
This incredible initiative was created thanks to the leadership of the club, PGA Director of Golf at The Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Club, Glen Murray. Murray and PGA HOPE Instructor, David Windsor, are continuing this initiative by mapping out future plans of special events and playing opportunities for the veteran graduates.
